Meet the owners! Carvossa

Where is your favourite place for a meal? Ben's Cornish Kitchen is always locally sourced, fresh and delicious for a special treat …

What are your favourite things to do in Marazion? Coastal Walks come high on our list! So close to the beautiful mounts Bay beach and walks usually end with a coffee & cake or a cold beer sat outside the Godolphin Arms in all weathers overlooking the Mount…

How long have you owned Carvossa? We kept being drawn back to Marazion on our property search of the area, we viewed and put an offer in on ‘Carvossa” 3 years ago but it was at least 12 months before we started to renovate it, it is an upside down cottage so we enjoy lovely sea and Mount views from our upstairs windows seats…it is packed full of quirky original features, there is a very special Light which floods the cottage and every day the sea looks different, Love sitting in the outside Courtyard, never tire of listening to the seagulls giggling (yes they really sound like they’re giggling!) as they sit on top of the chimney pots! We are close enough to amble down to the pubs and shops and some weeks go by when we don’t use the car at all! There is even a bus which passes by and takes you into Penzance open-topped for those warmer sunny days great for soaking in all the sights and salty sea-air!

What's your favourite walk in the area? We love the Coastal Path walk from Marazion to Perranuthnoe, and usually go to the Cabin overlooking the Beach, for lunch or afternoon tea and afterwards have a ‘mooch’ around the shops and Galleries there...

What's your favourite view of St Michael's Mount? St Michael's Mount has to be one of the most photographed and painted Iconic landmarks in Marazion, but one of our favourites is from our upstairs window at night when on Special Occasions it is lit up! This Christmas It was Gold and looked Beautiful…

What is the history of Carvossa? The Cottage dates back to the early 1700’s, with cob and granite walls and we have managed to retain the original 13” floorboards in the upstairs kitchen... The original wood panelling in the cottage has been up-cycled to make shutters and cupboards.

We Hope you have a Wonderful stay!
