Meet the owners, Cormorant Views

Where is your favourite place for a meal? Our favourite place to eat in Marazion is The King's Head which is a traditional English pub. It serves excellent, good value for money, food by friendly staff: also only a short walk from our apartment.

However, a must for dining, is Trevaskis Farm, Gwinear Rd, Connor Downs, Hayle, TR27 5JQ. We love their Sunday roast meal, after we have perused their farm shop.

What are your favourite things to do in Marazion? We love venturing over to St Michael's Mount. It's only a ten minute walk across the beach from our flat when the tide is out. Views from the top are fabulous looking across the bay to Mousehole, Newlyn, Penzance and Marazion. Our grandchildren like the gardens, the Mount quiz , the restaurant and the souvenir shops. Also in Marazion at the top end there is a left turning to Wheal Rodney where there is a lovely warm spa pool: we take the grandchildren there every time.

Other favourite haunts are The Minack Theatre overlooking Porthcurno beach and the beautiful Lamorna Cove.

How long have you owned Cormorant Views? We have owned Cormorant Views since 2010. The panoramic view from the bay window is fabulous. The constantly changing colours of the sea and landscape dictated by the changing weather. Watching the wind/ paragliding surfers during the day and the amazing sunsets over the bay in early evening.

What's your favourite walk in the area? Apart from the walk along the Causeway to the Mount, our favourite walk is the footpath across the bird sanctuary where rare migrating birds settle, and herons and egrets etc., nest. Also there can be seen rabbits bobbing about on the grass.

What's your favourite view of St Michael's Mount? Our favourite view of the Mount is from the small garden beside the Godolphin Arms, when the tide is out, and also when the castle is floodlight at night time, which we can see from our apartment window.

What is the history of Cormorant Views? The property is a semi-detached house built around 1905. It was a B + B until 2006 when it was converted into 5 residential apartments with each having its own parking bay.
