Meet the owners! Lynwood

Where is your favourite place for a meal? Excellent food, friendly service with lunch or evening dining. Lazy lunches enjoyed at Scarlett Wines Lelant. They also do a great Cornish breakfast. They welcome dogs inside or out.

If its a good day to eat alfresco. No better place than Trenenhere Sculpture Garden Gulval. Set in an elevated position you have full view of Mounts Bay. We've also eaten here in the evening. Lovely food & good wine.

What are your favourite things to do in Marazion? When staying at the cottage we enjoy walking anywhere in West Cornwall. Walking from the cottage we can be on the coastal path within minutes. The Helford Estuary and Falmouth Bay area have been favourite places over the last few years. There are lovely walks with good pubs to call and eat at along the way.

     - Pandora Inn Restronguet Creek a beautiful thatched pub right on the Helford River with outdoor seating extending onto a          jetty.

     - Red Lion Mawnan Smith does a good Sunday lunch.

     - Shipwrights Helford is set on the creek in a lovely peaceful setting.

On a nice evening we take our dogs a walk round Lands End taking the coastal path from Sennen. With the return walk along the sustrans path. There are spectacular views and we watch the sun go down behind Longships Lighthouse. If you're lucky you may even see the Scilly Isles in the distance!

How long have you owned Lynwood? The cottage was renovated when we bought it. In 2015 we decided to have the walls lime plastered in the living room. In the process of the work the inglenook fireplace was uncovered and the multi-fuel burner fitted. It's where we can get away and relax. Been on a fairly quiet lane it's peaceful.

What's your favourite walk in the area? We really enjoy walking to Perranuthnoe either by the coastal path or inland path. This is a favourite daily walk with our Scotty dogs Finn and Fergus.

What's your favourite view of St Michael's Mount? Our favourite views of St Michaels Mount are off the coastal path to Perranuthnoe and over Marazion town from Back Lane Marazion.

What is the history of Lynwood? The cottage is about 180 years old.
