Meet Carvossa Owners - James & Sarah Coleman
How long have you owned Carvossa ? We bought Carvossa in 2018.
What's your favourite view of St Michael's Mount?
From the armchair in Carvossa looking left, with a glass of wine in hand, a feeling of “King of the Castle” and with the lights on at night, it quite special.
What's your favourite things to do in Marazion?
Early morning walk to Parrenuthnoe, stunning! or just simply along Steps beach watching the abundance of sea birds running along the shore. Also Kite surfing in the bay, having lessons!
Where is your favourite place for a meal?
Hmmm, tricky one, there are lots of great places, lunch at the Peppercorn Cafe in Perranuthnoe is lovely on a sunny day, the Fire Engine Inn does fantastic top notch food with a very short stumble home and of course Bens Cornish Kitchen for that special occasion!
What is your favourite walk in the area?
Walk from Carvossa down to the RSPB reserve and pick up St Michaels way (route to Santiago de Compostela), at Ludgvan, head left to Tremenheere Gardens, stop for lunch or afternoon tea and enjoy the fantastic view, carry on to Long Rock picking up the path to the beach and head back to Marazion.
What is the history of the property?
Carvossa was owned by the St Aubyn family until 2013, when a lovely couple Jackie and Paul did a fantastic job in renovating the cottage and now here we are (thanks guys! 😀), the proud owners of Carvossa. Look out for the Coffin hatch, that’s got some history, oh and the mouse door is not real!
